Merry Christmas New Hope Family and Friends,
First, I want to thank all of you for your continued prayers in my healing. My family and I quarantined together with the virus and are now healthy. I had the worst of it with strong symptoms lasting longer than anything I have experienced before. Thankfully I didn’t get pneumonia and things didn’t take a turn for the worse during those hard days. I will be honest and tell you that I don’t want anyone to go through what I went through. It was bad. Thankfully, through God’s healing grace I survived.
My family and I were not the only ones impacted by the virus this month. Several families in the church contracted the virus and went through their own healing journey. I am thankful to hear that most are either on the other side of it and have recovered, or have moved past the worst part of the symptoms. Praise God!
Special thanks to the church leadership for making quick health and safety decisions that limited further exposure to the virus for many of our church attendees. Also, I can’t thank the staff, elders, and deacons enough for picking up the slack and making sure things at the church continued to move forward in my absence.
With all that being said, we will continue to have Livestream Only Worship Services for the final two weeks of this month. This decision was made based on the following three circumstances.
- The rise in Covid cases across Middle Tennessee.
- The fact that New Hope has experienced an outbreak of the virus this month.
- The desire for families and individuals to remain healthy and safe for the remainder of the Christmas season by not offering in-person worship gatherings that may expose more people to the virus.
Livestream Only Christmas Schedule
Sunday, December 20 – Worship and Children’s Christmas Program @ 10:00 AM
Christmas Eve – Worship and Candlelight Service @ 5:00 PM
Sunday, December 27 – Worship and Message @ 10:00 AM
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Children’s Christmas Program will feature songs that Facebook Live and YouTube will not allow because of copyright law. As a result, in order to watch the program this Sunday you must go to the church WEBSITE or the New Hope Church App (a link can be found for that at the bottom of New Hope’s Home Page), to view the service in its entirety.
The elders of New Hope are currently working toward resuming in-person worship at the beginning of the year. These discussions involve new health and safety measures that will need to be put in place to ensure we are doing the most we can to prevent future outbreaks of the virus at New Hope. We all want to be together again and in biblical community with one another. Believe me, we desire nothing more! Please be patient with us as we seek the Lord’s direction on gathering again. We are in the HOME STRETCH of this difficult time, let’s stay united in love for one another through Christ Jesus our Lord!
Be completely humble and gentle, be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Year End Giving Reminder!
Just a reminder that we have two giving Sundays remaining in 2020. Please be in prayer for our giving as we end the year. We have an aggressive December giving budget and after our first two Sundays we are significantly behind. Our budget each Sunday for December is $30,000. After two weeks we are $36,000 behind our budget. God loves us all and we can never outgive him.
Prayer: “Almighty God and everlasting Father, we thank You that You are our bountiful Provider and for the many gifts that we enjoy so freely from the fruit of the earth. May we be wise servants and faithful stewards with the many blessings that we have received at Your hand.”
