Hello Everyone,
One of our Connect Groups recently presented an excellent question to all of its participants. Do you know what the mission and vision is for New Hope Community Church? I wasn’t in the group so I can’t give you a first-hand account of all the answers, but what I can tell you is that there were multiple answers.
This has given me an opportunity to touch on this subject again and give you a crystal clear statement on the mission and vision of the church. We have elements of it written on the walls, posted above the main entrance doors, and available on the website and church bulletin every week.
Simply put, the mission statement focuses on the need for every individual to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. The vision statement of the church is how New Hope plans to accomplish that mission. All of the ministries and methods we utilize in the church, like our Worship Service, Connect Groups, Prayer Groups, Student and Children’s Ministries, Create Hope Studios, and the Missions we support all fall under the vision statement.
I would ask that all members of New Hope continually hold up the mission and vision of the church in their prayers. Please be specific in your prayers as you ask for God to help the church Reach more people in our community, Connect them to the body of Christ, Grow in their personal relationship with Jesus, and then Go and make more disciples. After all, it is through the movement of the Holy Spirit working through us that His plans and purposes are accomplished.
Here is a simplified way to remember the Mission and Vision:
Mission Statement (What We Hope to Be)
A People Pursuing a Relentless, Unrestricted Relationship with Jesus Christ.
Vision Statement (How We Plan to Get There)
REACHing out to our friends and neighbors in the community.
CONNECTing ourselves and them to the body of Christ
GROWing in our personal relationship with Jesus Christ through the study of His Word and prayer.
GOing into our neighborhoods and the world to make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
There you have it. The mission that we strive to be in Jesus Name, and the vision that takes us on the journey. Let your prayers begin!
Have a blessed week,
Pastor Josh
