This year will mark the 11th year that New Hope has collected food items and delivered them to Our Father’s House, an Appalachia Ministry Food Pantry is Northeast Tennessee. Each month more than 150 families are served with food and household supplies through this wonderful ministry.
Let me encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to involve your entire family in the shopping process. Let your children/grandchildren know that the food you are purchasing is going to help families in need. More importantly, let them know that Jesus calls us to be a blessing to others and that this is just one of the ways we can do it.
Sunday, Sept. 30 (this Sunday) is the last Sunday we will be collecting food and supplies. You can purchase items from the provided list and place them in the church gallery. It’s easy to see where to drop off the food once you enter the church, just look at the picture above.
Here is the list of items that are needed. (click on the picture to make it larger)
The trailer of food and supplies will be delivered by our New Hope team on Saturday, Oct. 6. Randy Smith and Rodney Duncan will be leading a team of drivers and workers who will unload the trailer and restock Our Father’s House. It is an all day adventure that starts early in the morning and returns in the late afternoon. However, we are always in need of helping hands to unload the trailer so please let us know if you would like to help. Just email me: firstname.lastname@example.org
If you want to know what the unloading process looks like, check out the youtube video we made a few years ago.
Have a great week!
