On Sunday, June 28 we will have our quarterly Town Hall Meeting at the conclusion of the worship service. According to New Hope’s Constitution, this is our annual business meeting, conducted for the purpose of confirming church leaders for the coming year, adoption of the year’s budget, and receiving the written annual reports of the Eldership, the Deaconate, and the Senior Pastor.
In years past only active members who physically attend the Town Hall Meeting would be eligible to cast a vote on the budget and elder/deacon nominations. However, due to the unusual circumstances surrounding Covid-19, we understand that not everyone will be able to attend the meeting in person. As a result, we will be livestreaming the town hall meeting and allowing those who cannot attend an opportunity to cast their votes on the following Monday or Tuesday.
The Voting Process
On the tables in the gallery we will have a list of New Hope members available along with voting ballots. Each member should find their name on the list and put an “X” by their name so we know that they have taken a ballot. For those in attendance at the Town Hall meeting, completed ballots can be dropped in the ballot box. For those who are unable to attend the Town Hall, the church office will be open Monday (June 29th) and Tuesday (June 30th) from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM so members can cast their votes and drop them in the ballot box.
Elder Nomination: Todd Hutchison
Deacon Nominations: Randy Smith and Scott Erickson
The elders of New Hope would like to thank you in advance for your patience and grace during this unusual season. This year we have been forced to handle this important Town Hall meeting in a way the writers of New Hope’s Constitution could not have foreseen. We look forward to next year when we pray all members of New Hope’s congregation will be able to cast their vote at the same time.
